What is Innovation ?

This course provides an overview of the whole innovation process, from developing a plan for creating an environment conducive to innovation, through to the creative thinking process.

The first section covers the concept of innovation, culture for innovation, interpreting and analyzing findings and identifying areas of improvement. The second section looks at the concept of creativity, the difference between invention and innovation and the main creativity techniques, namely brainstorming, mind mapping, problem solving and lateral thinking.

Creative thinking is a way of looking at problems or situations from a fresh perspective, which suggests unorthodox solutions. Creative thinking can be stimulated by various processes or techniques as mentioned before. The last section of this course delves into the application of creativity techniques.
