Course Purpose
Explore shape and motion in 2D and 3D space, including 3D objects, through our online courses. This unit standard provides credits towards the mathematical literacy requirements of the NQF at level 3. The goal is for learners to progress with confidence, growing in their insightful use of mathematics to manage everyday living needs and become self-managing individuals. It aims to foster an understanding of mathematical applications relevant to present and future occupational experiences, developing learners into contributing workers. Additionally, it encourages critical sensitivity to the role of mathematics in a democratic society, shaping learners into participating citizens. Those credited with this unit standard can measure, estimate, and calculate physical quantities in practical situations, and explore, describe, represent, interpret, and justify geometrical relationships and conjectures to solve problems in two and three-dimensional geometrical situations.
What you’ll learn
Handling real-life measurements and calculations, fitting for daily life or work needs. Additionally, you’ll delve into geometry to solve problems, exploring shapes in both two and three dimensions while justifying your findings.
