- Unit 1 : Demonstrate an understanding of the role of information in organisation design and behaviour.ASSESSMENT CRITERIA5
- 1.1The role of information in organisation control and behaviour is described to clients in a meaningful manner.
- 1.2Economic, technical, operational and behavioural risks relating to information in organisations is described in current terms.
- 1.3The effects of new development techniques and management theories on the formal systems development lifecycle is evaluated and explained in line with organisational status.
- 1.4The Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is described in relation to project management and documentation requirements.
- 1.5Databases and database management systems are explained to clients in terms of organisation, acquisition, storage, access, sharing, control and implications for the organisation.
- Unit 2 : Participate in the analysis and design of information systems.ASSESSMENT CRITERIA4
- 1.1System analysis and design techniques are applied that are appropriate to the organisational structure and requirements.
- 1.2The organisation’s information requirements are elicited utilising appropriate communication techniques
- 1.3All relevant documentation is compiled in accordance with organisational and system needs.
- 1.4Systems are sourced and designed to meet the organisation’s information requirements.
- Unit 3 : Maintain control over system development processes.ASSESSMENT CRITERIA4
- 1.1Investigation and feasibility studies are conducted to evaluate and control system development.
- 1.2The phases of the SDLC are adhered to and changes are made when necessary.
- 1.3System acquisition policies are formulated and monitored on an ongoing basis.
- 1.4Control over system development processes is maintained through continuous, accepted evaluation and testing procedures
